Advanced Monitoring Capabilities
Acoustic monitoring is currently the only technology capable of detecting cable strand failures caused by corrosion or fatigue. Any loss of section resulting from a strand failure can be detected and accurately located.
Fibre optic sensors are recommended for harsh environments and for detecting hidden defects, such as micro-cracks caused by local prestressing losses. Fatigue monitoring of metal components enables continuous trend analysis of the residual safety coefficient and accurate estimation of remaining service life, allowing maintenance to be planned proactively and efficiently.
Scouring Risk Management
Approximately 60% of structural failures worldwide are caused by floods and scouring. Early detection is therefore critical to preventing sudden and unexpected collapse. Co-developed with IFSTTAR, Sixense’s scour monitoring method is the only solution that provides permanent, continuous monitoring with early-stage detection capabilities.
