SixGyro comprises a probe that provides borehole deviation surveys regardless of their horizontal/vertical inclination, at any depth.

Centralisers are supplied to enable measurement of any borehole, regardless of it’s diameter.

Measurements can be made in bare or cased boreholes or in metal drill pipes (the probe is not susceptible to magnetic interference).

SixGyro: drilling deviation measurement

The small dimensions of the probe (22 mm diameter, 700 mm long and approx. 4 kg in weight) make it easily handleable by a solo operator.

The measurement step is operator-defined. The measurement process is fast (approximately 15 minutes for a 30-metre borehole in 1-metre steps).

As with most deviation systems, the azimuth start point must be measured by other means (topographically, GPS, etc.) and entered into the system.

Device accuracy (supplier data): 0.1° in inclination (0.2%); 0.5° in azimuth (0.9%).

Ultimate measurement accuracy depends on the accuracy of the device, the accuracy with which the azimuth start point has been measured, and the positioning of the probe within the borehole.
